a before and after hat - I hate frogging

This is a Half Pipe Hat from Stoller's Son of Stitch n Bitch. The hat on the left is knit to length recommended in the pattern, which IMO was too short, so I frogged it and reknit it a bit longer to cover the ear, as it's pictured in the book. I used a variegated Paton's Classic Wool. This hat was also originally frogged because the original cast-on of 80sts wouldn't make a wide enough hat, but that's more my fault because I'm using a different yarn than what's used in the pattern.

It fits my head perfectly, but too big for my husband's head, so I may save it for a gift I may need to make come a birthday or holiday to someone who may need a warm hat to wear.
